I wish I had more time to write in the blog, but my schedule has been so packed I haven't even had a second to open my laptop and write something. I promise that as soon as I have some time I will fill in all of the details to my trip.
Just to sum up my day today: I ran out of shekels so I found an exchange place on Ben Yehuda street a few blocks from my hotel. I then took a taxi to the train station and took a train to Binyamina (the city not winery). The trains are beautiful, very spaceous, clean and quick. It cost me only 20 shekels for the train ride, when it would have cost me 300 shekels for a taxi to take me. When I arrived in Binyamina (a 20 minute train ride), Golan Tishbi picked me up and took me to the Tishbi Winery. I love visiting Tishbi because it is such a great atmosphere. The outdoor restaurant has great food, especialy their pizza. It is so nice to see the whole family; Golan, Oshra & Jonathan working together to create a great winery.
I spent some time tasting all of their new gourmet products such as Merlot, Muscat & Cabernet Jams, olive oil and honey. I then tasted their new wines that will be released very shortly including the estate & vineyard series Merlot, Cabernet, their Pinot Noir, and organic Syrah. Overall they are very great wines.
I then met with Adam Montefiure from Carmel Winery for a little discussion and by 3:00pm I had to head to Jerusalem to meet up with my cousins for Shabbat dinner. I made a little mistake of not planning ahead of time how to get to Jerusalem and I ended up getting a little lost with the trains. I got off at the wrong train stop and had to take a taxi to the central bus station in Tel Aviv. Luckily I got to the bus when I did, 10 minutes later and the buses stop running for Shabbat. My journey finally ended at 5pm when I arrived in Jerusalem. I'm exhausted and ready to have a home cooked meal that my cousin Rocky made. She is an excellent cook.
