A wonderfully complex blend that’s full of surprises. About an hour after opening the bottle, there was a lot of smoke and tobacco on the nose with faint notes of black and red fruit culminating to fresh mint. Fast forward two hours and the nose mimicked a bold cabernet sauvignon (interesting because cabernet sauvignon is not one of the components in the blend). By the fourth hour, a lovely Bordeaux. Yep, this one’s a shifter. Dark garnet in color with purple undertones. Blackberries, red currants, strawberries and spice on the palate with elegant tannins that gently grip. Round and silky with a long a finish of fruit and a touch of spice. Already looking forward to the next tasting.
