Weekly Wine Reflection: Chateau Lafon-Rochet Saint-Estephe 2003

This week I decided to treat myself to a wine that surely deserves to be on my list for all KosherWine.com fans to try. The Chateau Lafon-Rochet Saint-Estephe 2003 is a little taste of heaven in a bottle. And the best part is that we offer it in both a half and full bottle! After reading about this wine in Rogov’s Guide to Kosher Wines 2010: The World’s 500 Best Kosher Wines, it sparked my initial interest; however, as you may find, reading doesn’t ever do the wine justice (hint hint).
It was the end of the day, and I decided to find out what this wine was all about. I poured a taste in my glass and swirled it around. I was very impressed with the nose on this wine with a lovely and deep presence of fruit. Specifically, I found black cherry with hints of toasty vanilla.
My first sip was a delicious, velvety experience. The healthy presence of super-ripe fruit hit me first with piles of tannins that followed. I decided to let it breath to see if this would change the structure of the wine.
Wow, I was glad I did because it released the full presence of fruit making this wine seem even more exotic to me. This deep, ruby red wine seemed to take on its full berry flavor all the while it kept a solid texture. I found that it had so much depth which left me wanting more. And I did…I actually took the remainder of the half bottle home with me!
If you have a reason to celebrate or just in the mood to splurge a little on wine, I highly recommend that this be on your list to buy. And when you do try this wine, you will all see why I believe Chateau Lafon-Rochet Saint-Estephe 2003 is a little piece of heaven in a bottle.
Sincerely,
Krystan

Krysten, Hi....
We two do not know each other but it is clear that you work for kosherwine.com. Thus, with all due respect, and that considering that I post on this site regularly, do you think it fully objective for you to post reviews of wines that you are selling? The question, perhaps rhetorical if you choose for you to answer - let's say you taste a wine that you are selling and find that to be a junk wine. Would you post a tasting note with your honest opinion?
Apologies for putting you on the spot but after all, I am a curmudgeon.
Best wishes
Rogov

Hello Daniel,
I actually am glad you asked me this. My plan is to pick wines that I have heard about that would be worth trying. That being said, the point of me writing these weekly wine reflections is to let people know about different wines that would be worth trying. It gives me a chance to try more wines and it also gives the readers a chance to then decide if they want to as well. I only have good intentions in bringing knowledge to the readers about wines that I find interesting and unique. I hope this answers your question. I look forward to more interactions with you.
Sincerely,
Krystan
