Weekly Wine Reflection: Galil Mountain Meron 2006

When I first heard about Galil Mountain Meron 2006 back in August on http://mykerem.com, I couldn’t believe I would have to wait until the beginning of this year to try it. Let me say that it was worth the wait. Yesterday, I was thinking that it would be a good idea to try this wine again, and it made me remember why I fell in love with it.
The moment I put the glass up to my nose, the aroma of berries hits me. I swirl it around and bring it back up again, and the aroma goes deeper of cranberries and blueberries with earthy tones.
I take a sip and the jamminess of the wine comes through immediately. Now, I don’t know about the rest of you, but I love a good jammy wine. But the wine doesn’t stop there…the oak really shines through along with flavors of mint and a slight pepper.
This dark ruby colored wine has many layers to it that makes each sip an unique experience with new flavors bursting through making me want more. And to be honest, I did enjoy my glass to its fullest!
Now my question to all of you is if you haven’t tried this wine yet, what are you waiting for? If you have tried it, what did you think?
Stay tuned weekly for my Weekly Wine Reflection and let me know your thoughts.
Sincerely,
Krystan
