Weekly Wine Reflection: Pasover Wines

The other night we decided to try some wines for Passover, so KosherWine.com fans would have a nice variety of wine to read about for this week’s wine reflection.
First wine we tried was the Recanati Yasmin White. If like me, you are a fan of a Sauvignon Blanc, you will love this wine. It had nice tasting notes of grapefruit that was crisp and fresh. It made me wish the weather outside was warmer, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try it now!
The next wine I really enjoyed. This surprised me because it was a Moscato. Typically, I like a dry red wine; however, the Golan Moscato was very elegant with hints of lime and lavender. The fact that the sweetness was subtle made this a great Moscato for everyone to enjoy.
Now on to the red wines…first we tried the Chateau Haut-Mont-Saint-Pey Bordeaux which was exactly what I thought it would be. A nice drinkable French wine that was dry but very light.
Moving on, we tried the Barkan Cabernet Sauvignon, which currently we have on sale for Passover. This popular selling Cabernet was a nice deep, ruby red wine that was full bodied with great aromas of berry and spice.
As we continued our journey with heavier red wines, I became more excited to see what else was in store for us from the Golan Heights Winery. The first was the Yarden Mount Hermon 2007 which was a great wine at a great price. It was a medium bodied wine that was very fruit forward. The second red wine we tasted from Golan Heights was the Yarden Cabernet Sauvignon 2006. Now if you wanted to splurge a little more on your wine, I would highly recommend trying the Yarden Cabernet Sauvignon. This full bodied Cabernet was excellent. It was complex with layers of berry, chocolate and hints of oak.
I was glad I had the opportunity to try all these wines. If any KosherWine.com fans have tried these wines, I would love to hear what you think. I hope you all enjoy!
Sincerely,
Krystan
