Starting to get frustrated with Israeli wine prices

We're ordering in two new Israeli wines that shall remain unnamed, and the pricing is leaving me a little frustrated. These wines will both retail at about $30/bottle.
I'm frustrated because it seems like the baseline price for any new Israeli wine is moving higher. Many of the established quality Israeli wineries are able to bring us a new wine in a reasonable price category, such as Galil Mountain Barbera for about $18, but that's it: it seems like mostly we're fighting just to hang on to the good bargains of the past.
And when they do come out with something new in the $10-15 category, it is more often than not some generic, private label stuff that isn't terribly good.
One of these new $30/bottle wineries received a nice write up in Wine Spectator's Israeli wine feature, but the other I've never heard of before, it's the first wine from the winery imported to the US. I am not privy to the inner workings of the supply chain, but I don't get it...is the domestic market in Israel so ravenous for wines that these sell well at these prices? Or do these wineries produce so few cases that they don't care about doing volume?

K Wine - don't even get me started :) That's a whole other point of frustration, why in some cases the US prices went sky high while staying the same in Israel. I don't think this is a wide spread phenomenon though, there are only a few glaring examples. Hey, sometimes we even beat the Israeli price...

I think it is a question of supply and demamd. Because of all the attention to Israeli wine in the media and the fact that some people think that if a wine cost more it will tast better. As a newbie I alreadey know that is not true. The prices on the Israeli site are more than on kosherwine.com. So it they think they can charge more and get their price they will do so.
