General Information
From vineyards at the foothills of Mount Meron, Dalton brings you a very special wine. This limited production of Zinfandel is a dark impenetrable purple color; the nose is rich with currants, berries and plums spiced with cinnamon and vanilla from the barrel. The wine is long on the palate with sweet fruit and soft tannins.

Agreed that this is not as spicy as other Zinfandels, but it was still excellent. It perhaps reminded one more of a Cabernet with bold berry and dark purple fruits, but with more forward coffee and chocolate flavors.

I agree with one of the reviewers that the wine must breath for 30+ minutes, however, I feel that there is a great deal of complexity in this very fine offering from Dalton. Good fruit along with a slightly peppery finish make oblivious to the rather high (15.5%) alcohol content of this very nice wine. Of course, once you drink the bottle, you are oblivious in other ways! A fine Israeli Zin. Not as peppery as the Californian (Hagafen, Weinstock) offerings, which is not a bad thing, just different. Try this one and you will not be disappointed!

This wine is a full-bodied Zin. It is an OK Zin. Not great. It must be let to breathe for 30 + minutes before drinking to achieve its full potential. It has subtle fruits and warmth but is not a complex wine. The Dalton Shiraz 2005 is far superior in every way to this wine.

Probably the best Dalton wine I've tasted. Rich, full, fruit-forward, but balanced. This wine will accompany most meals nicely.
