General Information
Ella Valley's Cabernet Franc was hand picked during a night harvest then aged for 15 months in French oak barrels. The wine consists of 95% Cabernet Franc and 5% Merlot grapes. Daniel Rogov's tasting note: "Developed in one and two-year-old barrels and blended with 5% of Merlot. Garnet toward royal-purple with green and orange reflections, with blackberry and black cherry fruits overlaid with notes of rose petals. Medium-full bodied, opens slowly to reveal light tobacco and leathery notes, those on a background of crisp minerals. Tannins rise on the long finish to give grip to this elegant wine. Best 2009–2013. Score 90"

Ella Valley Vineyards Cabernet Franc 2007
Deep, clear, purplish-garnet, beautifully fragrant with a spicy vegetal nose. Mid to full bodied, smooth, dry, with lots of character and nuances, having hints of dark cherry, chocolate and cigar, with a long, pleasurable finish. Hand picked, night harvested, 16 months in oak. This is a wonderful wine. Excellent!

For the veggie, tobacco lover. A very nice dry wine. If you've only tasted cab franc in a blend, drink this bottle. the classic vegetable nose that cab franc provides and a nice palate of black berries, and a lot of earthy soil. long finish with tannins that are far from mellow. well balanced and a nice, unmarried cab franc.

Stellar, concentrated, profound cab franc. The best I have tasted since the 1996 Hagafen Cab Franc. Great ripe fruit, complex, concentrated. If you want to know what a great cabernet franc should taste like, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this wine. Can drink now or age at least another 3-5 (conservative as this wine has the complexity, concentration and structure for ageing)
