General Information
70% Petit Syrah – 30% Zinfandel. Select vineyards of Israel's Upper and Lower Galilee region, where the Mediterranean climate and alluvial soils provide ideal growing conditions, are the source for these two distinctive grapes. Aged eight months in American oak barrels, the result is a fragrant, spicy, concentrated red with a fine backbone of acidity and long, feathery tannins. This is a wine for hearty dishes - cassoulet, roast goose, duck, steaks, and wine based stews.

This wine is a powerhouse now, but should show more finesse with another year of aging. An outstanding value for those who appreciate a full-bodied, muscular, wine.

An excellent and interesting blend, as well as great value. This wine will stand up to the heartiest beef and lamb dishes, and is likely to overpower anything less.

I am always looking for just the right wine to accompany cholent, and this one really did the trick. Its intensity and spice is not overpowered by a hearty stew.

Really nice flavors of blueberries and plums with some spice and bramble from the Zin (30% of the blend). We didn't decant this, but it would have helped the tannins, which are not really apparent from pop-and-pour.

This wine is packed with ripe blueberry, blackberry, plum, pepper, licorice and mineral aromas and flavors. Generous but not exaggerated oak and tannins but those in fine balance.

The Recanati Petit Syrah-Zinfandel is a surprisingly rich, full-bodied and robust wine that is both good with meats. cheese, or sipping. Letting the wine breathe and/or decanting the wine for 30 minutes is a must.

This was a great full bodied wine. It probably needs another 1-3 years of aging when it should get even better. Powerful aroma and nice blend.
