General Information
Yarden Chardonnay Odem Organic Vineyard was produced entirely from grapes grown in the cool Odem Vineyard, which has been farmed organically since 1998. Barrel fermentation and sur lies aging for seven months helps to produce a beautifully complex wine balancing fruit and floral notes with hints of oak and butter. Drink this wine along with intensely flavored fish and poultry dishes.

The lovely 2007 harks back to the wonderful 2004 - a deep straw-gold, smooth and almost heavy mouthfeel but with this vineyard's tweak of metallic astringency. Toasted nuts, melon, butter and a little vanilla.

A brilliant straw yellow colored Chardonnay with soft vanilla and lemon notes on the nose and round and giving on the palate. Oak is well integrated and alcohol is well balanced. Both women and men will enjoy this wine. An outstanding effort by the Yarden winery.

Rich and complex, full-bodied and creamy, with ripe apricot, citrus and pear fruits backed up nicely by an appealing spicy note. Generous but not offensive oak here.

The Odem Chardonnay 2002 was very enjoyable, although not exactly as I first expected. I didn't taste as much spice or nearly as much oak as anticipated. I would describe it as very floral and fruity (apple/starfruit perhaps) turning rather quickly to that cream and buttery finish that is often described with this wine which was very pleasant.

This is a nice bottle of Chardonnay, very well made. It is not too oaky, with nice fruit. I would recommend it.
