General Information
Yarden Viognier was produced entirely from Viognier grapes grown in the Golan Heights. The cool climate, rocky volcanic soil and high altitude are proving ideal for this classic northern Rhone Valley variety. Fermentation of one third of the wine was in stainless steel and two thirds were in French oak, yielding a wine with generous fruit, good body and satisfying complexity. Best served at 55 degrees F.

Yarden Viognier
Dark golden color, medium bodied, fruity aroma, with distinct pear, grassy lemon and mineral undertones, spicy/peppery.

This is one of my favorite wines. A viognier should encompass dry and fruit at the same time. This wine, for the price, does that. Overtones of pear and spice. Great on a warm summer day with fish, cheese, chicken or just snacks like olives and nuts.

This wine smells exactly like apple juice! This is a medium-bodied Viognier, with a nice balancing acidity. It is not as perfumey on the nose as many other Viogniers and the finish is a little short.

Round, ripe and lightly floral, with the classic litchi, apricot and lime aromas and flavors of the variety, those set off nicely by hints of coconut, a gentle spiciness and just the right amount of acidity to add liveliness and balance.

This wine is a nice alternative to Chardonnay, since it is too mild to scare away the Chard die hards. Pleasant floral aromas and nectarine flavors. This wine tasted like more of a blend then a pure varietal bottling.

Quite a good wine, a bit of a change from the regular Chardonnays and Sauvignon Blancs.

A nice wine, but somewhat hard to define. It is like a Gewurtzraminer, but not as sweet. It has a nice nose, tastes of apricots, with some spiciness and a relatively long finish. In the beginning of the meal, there was a sweet note right before the finish. In about 20 minutes, the sweetness crept up to the mid-palate, and 20 minutes after that, the wine was sweet throughout. Very strange to see the wine changing right before your eyes, especially a relatively young white wine. Overall, an interesting wine and a good conversation starter.

This was an exceptionally wonderful wine. We definitely tasted the pineapple as well as a flowery taste. We debated amongst many flowers and herbs to try to describe it.

A nice wine. Fruity aromas with notes of honey and a background of pineapple. Relatively well balanced and overall a nice summer wine.
