Web 1.x/2.x Personal Wine Collection Catalogue Systems

I have seen few different offline software to keep track of the wine cellar, but the only software I have ever used to track wine purchase and drinking has been online - 1) www.cellartracker.com; 2) winebeagles on facebook, both of which are free. Both of these online services have sizeable communities, but winebeagles has not really caught on in the facebook world very well, partly because it has not actually upgraded its features rather downgraded some of them (i.e. a newer, current version of it "resets" the view of the list of wines in cellar from "show all" to something like 25 or so wines per page each time there is a change in the catalogue [adding a new wine or a change in the number of bottles, or deleting a wine]). Cellartracker continues to grow both its userbase and features; it simply is an extremely versatile service and comes highly recommended!
I was wondering if anyone uses either of these, or other wine cellar software and to share the constructive praise and/or criticism of them. I also wanted to encourage forum members to share their cellartracker and/or winebeagles screen names.
Best wishes,
E.Y.

I also signed up for the wine cellar service from www.winelibrary.com (Gary Vaynerchuk; was it called Corked! ?), but I just checked and noticed that it appears to have disappeared from the website if I'm not mistaken. . .

This is a great question and I would love to hear from others as well. I haven't used any type of tracking system for my wines, but I have heard a lot about cellar tracker. David Raccah actually introduced me to this website and it looks very advanced. Hopefully he can comment on his experience.
Funny, I remember looking at Corked! when I was building myKerem.com. I thought they had a great concept, but they never were able to follow through on it. I just checked their website at www.corkd.com and it looks like they are trying to resurrect it.

E.Y.,
I don't use Cellar Tracker for my own cellar (mostly because my meagre 24 bottle wine fridge doesn't necesitate it), but I do find myself checking Cellar Tracker notes before buying wine, particularly older wines. And generally I find I'm more swayed by the Cellar Tracker notes than Parker and Wine Spectator reviews.
There's something very powerful about being able to read a large number of dated tasting notes to get a sense of how a wine is drinking. I know there are a few Israeli wine lovers on Cellar Tracker (Jan S. is one I remember), but it's not that many, and I think one of our desires for MyKerem's Israeli wine catalogue was to be a sort of Cellar Tracker for Israeli wines. This was one of the features I was most excited about going into it, because I do look at Cellar Tracker and think it's very useful. So maybe MyKerem's wine catalogue review function can do the same for Israeli wine.
Best,
Scott

Dan,
It appears that Cork'd is still supported to some level or another by Wine Library, but there are no real links to it from Wine Library's own sites.
If there was some kind of system that either on it's own and/or linked with my Cellartracker could post to something like Facebook and/or Twitter (I still don't have it, but if such a think exists or were to become actual I would open a Twitter account) I would majorly support it. . .
Best wishes,
E.Y.

Yesterday, I had lunch with David Racca, and he showed me his CellarTracker, which has pretty much all of his tasting notes available for public database viewing. One thing that I showed him is that with CellarTracker, usually other users can "look you up" by your profile name and see your cellar and other neat statistics, etc. of consumption by month, etc.

Yeah, I love CellarTracker. I have changed my privacy settings, so registered CT members can browse my "cellar". I spoke with Dan, and I think Eric would be glad to help out and share the library. That said, I have added many many bottles to CT, and I would hope that the catalog can be shared between both sites, and not have a walled garden for either one. MyKerem has a fully accessible catalog, maybe eric can be convinced to make a deal with Dan.
I must say, that having MyKerem do what CT has done, would be a yoman's job. Also, giving up my life on CT would be impossible, because I love the ability to track all wines - not just Israeli wines. Also, I love the catalog that MyKerem has and I am using it on my blog instead of having to take pictures and all that.
So in the end, we need both and getting a deal between the two sites would be great. Eric at CT just booked a deal between CT and Vinfolio, so I think the ability to share the data is possible and doable.
As always, would love to help where needed!
David

One of our future concepts for myKerem is that we will link data with other sites such as facebook, twitter and hopefully cellartracker. I believe cellartracker has an API, which is computer talk for a way to connect with another site. It should be doable, its just a matter of time commitment. I will try to make this happen as quickly as possible.
