About Me:

I live and work in the suburbs of Chicagoland, but originally grew up in the dirty south. I fell in love with wine by visiting the mountain wineries of my home state, Virginia. However, I do love me some beer and liquors as well. I love to try new things, therefore am always up for wine tastings. Between my husband and I, I do the wine buying...if he had it his way, we would be drinking cheap white wine out of screw-topped, glass gallon jugs. Mmm...

Wine Styles I like:

Cabernets, Shirazes, and Pinot Grigios are my favorites. Most likely, I will drink and enjoy most any wine you give me. If I think it's worth my mouth's attention, I will have another glass. A tart cherry, chocolatey Chianti is a treat. A nicely aged, full-bodied Bordeaux is always a welcome challenge. I tend to stay away from overly tannic wines, unless I'm drinking it with an appropriate meal to balance out the harsh mouth feel. Champagne is my weakness!
