1/09 This wine opens up nicely over the course of a few hours, tasting of black cherry and lush dark berries, with a bit of earth, and with moderate-to-heavy oak (this wine can handle it) lending cigar and a light touch of spice. Wonderful smooth, mouthcoating texture, though the tannins are a bit gruff. Not a bad showing by any means, though I suspect that this vintage is nearing the end of its drinking window. I'm excited to see how this winery develops - I think there is a lot of potential here.
